Welcome back to The Latest Blog :)
We've made it to the last blog until December! It hasn't yet hit me that in less than a month I will no longer be living in New England, a fact about me that hasn't once changed in my 28 years of life. SO crazy to think about. The excitement has been at an all-time high, and I know once we're settled things will feel even more exciting because we'll be able to engage in all of our passions, and plans, and really get down to business.
This week, I want to talk through a bit of an overview of what I've learned since becoming a digital marketer circa 2020 and follow up with some free writing on finding your unique superpower in what you do. I've been really enjoying talking through two specific subjects that speak to me within the niches of content marketing, entrepreneurship, wellness, and spirituality, and I hope they give you a little bit of everything in one read. Hopefully, these subjects all resonate equally with you as they do with me :)
The reason I want to extrapolate on my learnings in this landscape of digital marketing is because I believe what I've learned in my few years of marketing can help others interested in the industry, or even those who have fallen into the marketing industry through being a business owner and needing to engage in content marketing practices because of it.
What I've learned in my 5 years of being in marketing:
This industry is the most approachable creatively compared to others, but only experience allows you to see solid results. There has always been hype around the industry of marketing because it seems like no matter what context, it's always a good time. Our jobs really boil down to how well we can tell a story, and I'll NOT be the first to say that it's this plus so much more. Content marketing is the most approachable sector of marketing because most of us fall into it by proxy of having a passion, or business that we want to talk about on our platforms. But content marketing doesn't stop at simply creating the content, it stems from how you want others to know you, your business, and your brand. How you provide value for others. The content is just the medium in which you communicate it. This has the potential to branch out into email marketing, brand identity through colors/fonts/etc, analytics management, membership management, and of course, we can't forget about ads. This industry has approachable beginnings in the sense that almost anyone can tell a story, but it's about constantly making the story more authentic, brighter, and better as time goes on that makes the biggest impact.
There is never a one-size-fits-all approach when working with clients. Strategies will see the most success when adapting them to fit within your client's goals. With an ever-changing algorithm, current events, and the fact that growth comes with adapting to an always-changing environment, being in the marketing industry means you have to stay flexible. Staying up to date on everything is one thing, implementing it is another. What I've learned from this is that remaining a student in the industry of marketing is highly beneficial not only for how you develop better systems and skillsets to offer your clients, but it's beneficial for staying open-minded with clients in general. Open to their needs, their wants, and their creative ideas for their brand. Business owners have changing aspirations and goals for themselves and their passions and developing something that stands the test of time is simply not feasible. I've found the best results when the strategy I'm working within carries the current generational pulse, and the times, and speaks to my client's mission but through this adaptable, open-minded lens.
Marketing is just a fancy word for effective, emotion-invoking storytelling to the right people. This learning is the tone for the lessons previously mentioned, but I'd like to call out the reason why this is so important in understanding. Effectiveness, emotion, and context are all part of the best marketing strategies I've ever seen. Because we as humans make our decisions based on emotional stimuli. When we feel something strongly, we tend to form a bond with that thing, and it's no different for how we connect with businesses/brands. These entities are essentially providing for our well-being in countless ways, so how could we not connect with them on heartfelt levels? The success of marketing can be simplified through understanding this: when you do something, and you do it well, accentuating the most important aspects, and then communicating it all with your brand-identifying context to the people who can RELATE. It's just a matter of maintaining the right people, and growing your business to fit exactly what these people need and want over the course of time, that is the challenge.
Let's now get into the second part of the blog: accessing and finding your unique superpower in everything you do, whatever it is (following a passion, executing a business idea, but honestly anything else you engage in).
Understanding your unique superpower starts with first understanding a concept that I've held close to me since realizing it when I first began my journey in solopreneurship. Many things would come to me during my meditation practices, and this one carried a lot of truth for me and for what I understand and believe is true for every single person in the world:
You, yourself, are the most unique creation of your time. There is nobody like you (exactly) and there will never be anybody like you (exactly), and therefore, you, yourself, are THE unique force to be reckoned with. There is no looking for the uniqueness in you, you are it with all of your complex emotions, ranging interests, and ever-circulating relations. You simply as yourself are not only significant but drastically different from the next person and the person prior. Know this deep in your soul, and you will carry your superpower close to you for the rest of your life.
If you resonated with these words, let me know in the comments :) I'd love to share more insights from meditation if you all enjoy them!
What this sentiment hits on is the foundational awareness that there is nothing further needed from you to make you MORE unique, or MORE capable of what you want for your life, or what you believe you deserve for your life. The more you can allow yourself to believe that you already deserve everything and anything you desire, the closer you will get to living the reality you could only 'dream' of.

It's interesting that we use the term 'dream' when truly this is almost a diminishment of the power of what a dream really is; your imagination expressing your own true desires for yourself. It's not just a 'dream' in the sense of fantasy, it's your soul allowing you to see, feel, and experience what you want if only in your head for now. One practice in accessing your unique power comes down to connecting deeper with your dreams so much that you begin to believe that they can become your reality. What's important to know here is that you should never trouble yourself with the "how?". This is not meant for you to figure out. The intention you have for your life is enough of a force to drive your reality into becoming exactly what you focused on when your intention was born, stated, and petitioned.
The reason I touch on the overarching idea of manifesting here is because when we think about accessing and finding our superpower, our passion, our north star, we are essentially accessing an aspect of ourselves that is associated with who we want to be vs. what we are. We all want our superpower to be in alignment with what we want for our lives. For instance, we wouldn't exactly resonate with a superpower of teaching others when what we really want for our lives is to become a private investigator or researcher. This is where I encourage you to fuse your natural skills with your desires.
How do we do this? Write down at least 3 skills that you've been told, or that you know you embody. Look to testimonials, messages from friends, and previous journal entries. Once you've written these 3 things down, then write down what you want for your life. This doesn't necessarily have to be career-oriented, it could simply be visions of your life, certain feelings your desire life to invoke, or solid paths you feel inclined to take.
Once you've done this practice, meditate on everything you've written down. Sit with it. Take it all in and allow your mind to expand on both of these lists together in whatever way is coming naturally to you. When you feel ready, combine these two lists into an experience, vision, career, or lifestyle by writing what could realistically work for you. Write out what this combination feels like for you. What it's awakening in you.
This practice is meant to help you make the connections in your brain for what is possible for yourself while defining the very thing that makes you unique and unlike anybody else as they fuse together. If you gained anything from this blog, I'm so happy it found you. Leave me a comment if you're interested in any other subjects within the content marketing, entrepreneurship, wellness, and spirituality niches!
With utmost gratitude,
Liz
