My Client Built a Loyal Community of 2,000 People in <3 Months

In March 2025, I started producing a podcast for a brand new client. By May—just two months later—she was monetized, had 2,000 subscribers, and had completely transformed the visibility of her business.
In this post, I want to walk you through exactly how we did it. These aren’t random tips. These are the real, lived strategies, discoveries, and mindset shifts that I believe made her successful—not just temporarily, but sustainably. Let’s dive in.
Key Point #1: Her Personality and Authenticity
Let me be real with you: not everyone has this naturally, but everyone can develop it. What made the biggest difference for this client was her personality—her authenticity. That’s what helped her stand out and connect deeply with her audience.
I think this point really messes with the whole online business world of “use this one funnel” or “just copy this growth hack.” What most people aren’t talking about is how critical it is to let your real self shine through. I haven’t seen a single video on YouTube really drive home this point.
I stopped scripting my own videos recently. I used to write full sentences and try to repeat them. Now I just roll with a few key points that I actually care about—and I ramble, but it’s real. That one change made everything feel different and more aligned.
The same was true for my client. We thought her audience would mostly come from Instagram, but nope. Her subscribers came from YouTube itself—people discovering her through search and browse features. New people. New community. And it happened because she was just being her.
Getting comfortable on camera is a process. You can’t fake that. You have to practice. You have to build the muscle of showing up as yourself. That’s what resonates. Not polish. Not perfection. People connect with energy, not scripts.
Key Point #2: Her Engagement Is Off the Charts
Let’s talk data for a second. Most people are thrilled with a 5% click-through rate on YouTube. That’s solid. My client? She was hitting 6–8% from the beginning. And I haven’t even mentioned her comments section yet—she averages 70+ comments per video on about 2,000 views. That’s wild.
One big reason for this is how she connects with her audience.
She actively highlights her community’s comments in her episodes. She’s in a niche that’s deeply rooted in human experience and storytelling, and she brings her audience into the conversation. She shares their thoughts, their language, their energy. It’s not about showcasing perfect, polished questions—it’s about giving people a spotlight and letting their personalities be part of the content.
She’s witty. She’s funny. She’s real. And that makes her podcast not just informative but entertaining.
If you’re building your own platform, think about how you can use your community’s voice, too. Highlight their stories. Ask for reflections. Invite them into the process.
Let’s say you’re a yoga teacher posting flows or educational content. You could ask people to comment on what pose hit hardest for them that day, or how they felt after. Prompt them to go deeper and share their why. That creates emotional investment—and people want to come back next week to see if you feature them. That’s what builds real community. That’s what keeps people engaged.
Everyone’s obsessed with strategy and ROI, but honestly? Giving a shit about your people is strategy.
It’s the most powerful one you’ve got.
Key Point #3: A Sustainable Production Schedule Is Essential
This client is like a lot of you—running a business, raising a family, wearing all the hats. So for us to keep this going, we had to find a rhythm that actually worked for her life.
Now, I’m super organized (shoutout to me 😄), so I created a schedule and structure to support her. And it’s been game-changing. Because here’s the truth: when you first start a podcast or YouTube channel, it feels exciting. You have all the ideas. You’re fired up.
But three months in? It’s a different story. Life hits. You’re tired. You’re uninspired. The energy dips. And suddenly that amazing idea feels like a burden. That’s why you need a system.
Creative people especially (and that’s definitely my client) thrive in bursts. But they need balance—a little structure to keep things moving even when motivation fades.
My content creation process follows four steps: Plan, Create, Edit, Publish. I dedicate one full week per step, and I only create content one week a month. That’s it. Five videos, done during lunch breaks.
That’s what’s sustainable for me while working full-time and running two businesses.
For her, we found that once-a-month creation days work best. And yes—schedule your creation week around your cycle if that’s relevant for you. Don’t try to film five videos while your body’s asking you to rest.
What It All Comes Down To
If I had to distill this entire experience into one core truth, it would be this:
Connection is the key to success.
Connection is what helped my client build a loyal community of 2,000 people in under three months. Connection is what makes people comment, share, and come back. Connection is what creates trust—and trust is what leads to real growth.
And all of that starts with being yourself. It starts with dropping the script and letting your actual voice come through. That’s what I’ve been working on too. The people who are meant to find you will find you. But only if you’re showing up as you.
We’re heading deeper and deeper into an AI-saturated world. And while I love using tools where they make sense, they’ll never replace the power of human connection. That will always be my edge.
If all of this has you nodding your head like, “YES, this is exactly what I want,” and you’re ready to build your own content engine with heart, I’ve got a small group consulting program that might be a fit.
I work with five people at a time. It’s intimate, step-by-step, and designed to help you create a magnetic offer, build your content around it, and grow your business through aligned marketing.
